Community and Traffic Safety Committee

That the Committee Agenda dated June 19, 2024 be adopted as printed.

That the minutes of the April 17, 2024 meeting be adopted as printed.

That the Committee recommend approving two (2) Level 2 Type D crosswalks at Isabella Park on Sundragon Trail and to defer the installation to the 2025 budget deliberations.

That the Committee recommend to Council to request Staff to prepare a report for the Traffic and Safety Committee providing potential options for speed mitigation measures on Collings Avenue.

That Report TR-2024-3, entitled "Colborne Street – St. Marie of the Incarnation PXO review” be received for information, and; That the Committee recommend Council approve:  the implementation of U-turn restrictions between Scanlon Avenue and Porter Street/Natale Court,  the installation of pedestrian related signage on approaches to pedestrian crossings,  Option 3 – Use line markings and bollards to create a pinchpoint and daylight zone around the existing PXO, and that Council request staff to investigate costs associated with removal of the sidewalk on the west side of Colborne Street, north of Scanlon Avenue.

That Report TR-2024-6, entitled "West Park Avenue and Veterans Street – All- way Stop Review” be received for information, and: That the Committee recommend implementation of all-way stop control at the intersection of West Park Avenue and Veterans Street to Council.

That the Committee recommend Council to approve the following:  that parking be permitted on the west side of Northgate Drive from Archer Avenue to Noble Drive (currently alternating),  that ‘No parking/no stopping’ be designated on the east side of Northgate Drive from Archer Avenue to Noble Drive,  that curbing be painted red on Northgate Drive to denote locations of parking and no parking,  the installation of ‘No Parking’ signage 15m from the intersection of Noble Drive and Northgate Drive (on Noble Drive), as well as 15m from the intersection of Archer Avenue and Northgate Drive (on Archer Avenue),  the installation of ‘No U-turn’ signage between Archer Avenue and Roughley Street on Northgate Drive,  and the installation of center (only) 40 km/h bollard(s) near the pathway entrance on Fletcher Street.

That the Committee approve the updated estimate of $24,674 for previously approved pedestrian connections on Blue Dasher and Professor Day Drive.
