Whereas the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury recognizes the growing impact of climate change on local infrastructure, natural resources and community well- being; Whereas the proposed Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Strategy (CCMAS) has been developed through extensive consultation, research and collaboration with municipal staff, stakeholders and community members; Whereas the CCMAS outlines practical and actionable steps to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, enhance the resilience of municipal infrastructure, protect local natural assets and promote sustainable economic growth; Therefore, be it resolved that the Green Initiatives Advisory Committee: 1. Endorses the Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Strategy (CCMAS) as presented. 2. Recommends that Council formally adopt the CCMAS and direct staff to implement its recommendations.
