Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Committee

That the Committee Agenda dated June 5, 2024 be adopted as printed.

That the minutes of the May 1, 2024 meeting be adopted as printed.

That correspondence from Ms. Salmond’s Grade 1 class at Marshview Public School be received; and, That the DEI Advisory Committee and staff consult with local Indigenous leaders to develop land acknowledgment signage for town parks and report back to Council with a recommended signage program and cost estimates; and, That a letter of thanks be sent to Ms. Salmond’s class.

That, in an effort to embrace Truth and Reconciliation principles, staff be requested to incorporate Indigenous Seven Feathers Crosswalks into the final design of the Holland Street / Barrie Street intersection of the Holland Street Transformation Project, or other intersection as determined by Council.

That the Committee requests that an information presentation be arranged for Council regarding the New Legislative Framework for Policing in Ontario.

That the meeting is hereby adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
