The Committee recommend that Council: 1. Approve the name “Micicaquean Trail” for the future Holland River / canal corridor trail, reflecting an historic Indigenous name for the Holland River, subject to consultation with local First Nations; 2. Approve the name “Ishpaadinaa Trail” for the north–south trail corridor connecting the Holland River to the highest elevation within the urban area at Davey Lookout, derived from the Anishinaabemowin word meaning “place of elevation”, which has been Anglicized as “Spadina” in Toronto; 3. Approve the naming of the central spine trail as “Fraser Creek Trail”; and 4. Approve the naming of the new dog park as “Julia Munro Park” in recognition of her service as the longest-serving female MPP in Ontario and her well-known love of dogs.
